Nuanced Light
Nuanced Light is the interior design of a residential holiday villa in Taiwan, covering 413 square meters. The design reinterprets the Art Deco style of the 1920s. Repetitive geometric patterns appear on the wall decoration and on the light fixtures. Metallic details are set within large panels framed in black, white, silver and grey. Diamond-shaped marble on the porch floor echoes the wall decoration on both sides. Black hexagonal wood blocks with golden rims define the symmetrical living and dining rooms.
Nuanced Light Residential House by Joe Chen has been selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Nuanced Light Residential House won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
