In Between Lines
In-between Lines is a residential interior design for a small apartment of 39 square meters in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The split-level layout uses intersecting framed volumes that define the television wall, the mirrored cabinet, the waterproof basin and the bookshelf wall. The split-level floor slabs are kept within 10 centimeters to avoid an oppressive feeling, and a lowered ceiling conceals wiring and service equipment. Natural earth tones, timber and greenery create a calm setting. A full-height kitchen window and glass sections in the bedroom walls bring daylight inside.
In Between Lines Residence by Shih Cheng Lo, Min Han Yang has been selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. In Between Lines Residence was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition which honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
