Happiness with Woods
Constituting Happiness with Woods is a residential interior design for a 120 square meter apartment in Taichung. Wood is applied widely on the walls, floors, doors and furniture to create a warm and consistent atmosphere. A large table of solid wood and cast iron is joined to the kitchen island in an L shape and extends toward the window. The rectangular public area is divided symmetrically into a living room and a dining room. A sliding door links the living room to a Japanese style area, so the space can be opened or kept private as needed.
Happiness with Woods Residential Flat by Wei-Cheng Tsai and Li-Yung Chen was recognized as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Happiness with Woods Residential Flat won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which celebrates excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
