Sunlight Spills
Sunlight Spills is a residential interior design for a home of about 115 square meters in Taipei City, Taiwan. The home is shared by three generations, including elderly parents and a young child. The living room, dining area and kitchen are joined in one open public space, so adults cooking in the kitchen can watch the child at play. A central island and a dining table support meals, homework and reading. Light grey tones form a calm base, black lines add depth to the ceiling, and natural wood surfaces define the dining wall.
Sunlight Spills Residential by Han Chung Hung was selected as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Sunlight Spills Residential was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2019. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
