Crystal
Crystal is a residential interior design for a five-story house of 640 square meters in Taiwan. The crystal chandelier sets the starting point, and its height guides the proportions of the sofa wall, curtains and windows. White surfaces form the base, and grey mirrors extend the visual scale. Upper and lower curtains replace full-length curtains, so the door beside the windows stays clear. Hidden doors and display cabinets conceal irregular corners formed by the central staircase. A basement multi-purpose room holds a bar counter and a vintage playing table.
Crystal Residence by Shu Ching Huang was recognized as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Crystal Residence received the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program which recognizes superior design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
