Idyllic Forest Living
Idyllic Forest Living is a residential interior design in Taichung, Taiwan. The 157 square meter home follows passive house principles to limit energy use. Green materials are applied, such as low formaldehyde cabinets, non-toxic latex paint and water-saving bathroom fixtures. The color palette combines gray with vivid tones, and the living and dining rooms feature marble. Two television walls carry a cement texture finish that changes color under different lighting. The study also serves as a guest room, and the dining table extends when needed.
Idyllic Forest Living Residential by Chia Hsien Chao has been identified as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. Idyllic Forest Living Residential earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2024. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which recognizes excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
