House of Joy
House of Joy is a residential interior design for an apartment in Ankara, Turkey. The flat covers 165 square meters on the twenty-first floor and includes a large terrace. The plan is divided into three volumes: a central area with the living space, kitchen and home office; a sleeping area with two bedrooms and two bathrooms; and a terrace area with outdoor space, dining room and library. Most walls were rebuilt and part of the terrace was added to enlarge the interior. Pastel colors, wood textures and soft curved forms shape the rooms, which were also planned for the comfort of a cat.
House of Joy Residential Design by Asım Yüksel was selected as a creative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. House of Joy Residential Design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design recognition program that honors outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
