Shuiboli
Shuiboli is the interior design of a private residence in Huizhou, China, with an area of 570 square meters. A sculptural staircase is inserted into the space, optimizing the layout and the circulation route while creating a visual focus. The double-height stairwell avoids an oppressive feeling and provides a sense of open, breathing space. Wood veneer, marble and micro cement add a tactile quality to the interior. A large French window brings in daylight and frames the outdoor landscape. Soft furniture pieces create a calm and cozy atmosphere, and art installations complete the setting.
Shuiboli Private Residence by Huang Yu was highlighted as an outstanding example of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Shuiboli Private Residence won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2023. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design competition that rewards excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
