Around
Around is a residential interior design for a two hundred square meter home in Guangzhou. The plan follows a flowing layout in which closed rooms become an interconnected whole with a circular route. Glass in the entrance area lets light reach the kitchen. Curtains replace the wall between the living room and the bedroom, softening the transition between areas. Hollowed blocks form the storage cabinet walls in the cloakroom and desk area, adding visual interaction and avoiding large blank surfaces. The main materials are cement paint, wood veneer and tiles.
Around Residential House by The One Hong Kong Design has been featured as a grand representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Around Residential House earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which honors excellent design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
