BeHygeia
BeHygeia is a beauty salon interior located in Shanghai. The project covers 288 square meters. The layout is irregular and inspired by the form of grapes. Curved walls and simple geometry create soft lines through the space. The public area is almost white, and the curved plan gives it a sense of ceremony. Scattered lights form interlaced light and shadow. Bold blue and green in the lamps and niches connect the inside and the outside. The main materials are art paint, stainless steel corrugated board and wallpaper.
BeHygeia Salon by Lycent Lai was recognized as an exceptional example of architectural design by the A' Design Awards. BeHygeia Salon received the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design prize which celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
