Into the Ink
Into the Ink is a residential interior design for a 124 square meter home. The modern space is finished with marble veins, ceiling lines, embedded lighting and dark wooden grains to create a sense of flow. Black, grey and white are layered through materials of different textures to give the rooms depth. Black and white lines with recessed lighting run along the low beams of the common area, easing their visual weight and guiding movement. The kitchen, dining room and living room are joined, so parents can watch the children without barriers between the areas.
Into the Ink Residence by Jia Ru Chen was selected as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Into the Ink Residence earned the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2022. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
