Kapok Story
Kapok Story is a residential interior design covering 230 square meters in Fuzhou. The layout follows a subtraction approach, keeping only the essentials of daily life. Open public areas link the book bar, tea tasting area, living room, dining room and the Chinese and Western kitchens. Hidden partitions are formed by changes in ceiling and floor materials, so boundaries stay soft and the space remains calm. Rough marble meets simple wood veneer behind the sofa to enrich the texture. A colorful cartoon installation adds a vivid note.
Kapok Story Residential House by Yufang Lin was identified as an exceptional representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Kapok Story Residential House won the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
