Tea Yard
Tea Yard is a teahouse interior of 860 square meters located in Jinhong. The design spreads several space boxes throughout a vegetation courtyard, so the garden is experienced between one room and the next. The traditional enclosure pattern of the Bai nationality informs the plan, and the outline of Erhai Lake shapes the interior landscape. Local rough stone, iron and blue wood products are combined with cotton and linen fabrics in blue, gray and brown tones. Local plants recall the tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna and form quiet, private tea rooms.
Tea Yard Teahouse by Jus Tian has been recognized as an innovative representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award. Tea Yard Teahouse won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
