Glowing House
Glowing House is a residential interior design placed on the third floor of a corner terrace house in Taichung, Taiwan. The lower floors remain in commercial use, so the layout separates public and private areas and creates a smooth flow. The direction of the entrance door is altered to hide the living area and to increase privacy. Transparent sliding doors are set in front of the island in the open kitchen to block cooking fumes while keeping contact with the living room. Black, white and grey tones are combined with warm hardwood veneer.
Glowing House Residential by Tzu-Yi Yang and Chun Chun Yang was selected as a grand illustration of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Glowing House Residential was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2021. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design recognition program which celebrates exceptional design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
