Yanan Monsion
Yanan Monsion is a residential courtyard house in Yan'an. The project covers 800 square meters and was completed in April 2019. Natural stone and wood are the main materials. Separate rooms are joined by shared communication spaces, so that several generations of one family can live together with a sense of belonging and harmony. Proportion, emphasis and metaphor shape the character of the courtyard. Light and shadow, spatial relationships and the flow between indoor and outdoor areas link the interior with nature.
Yanan Monsion Residential House by Chunlei Sun was identified as an outstanding representation of architectural design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Yanan Monsion Residential House was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design in 2020. The A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that celebrates outstanding design of residential interiors, restaurants, hotels, offices, galleries, retail stores, showrooms, exhibition spaces and more.
